With around a decade of experience in TV news, I am thrilled to continue my career as a reporter at KING 5.

I have always considered the Seattle area home. My family moved to Washington when I was in middle school, and I spent my formative years in Kirkland and then Spokane where I attended Gonzaga University.

My broadcast career started in Medford, Oregon, writing, shooting and editing stories all over Southern Oregon and Northern California.

After Medford, I spent two years in Austin, Texas, the state's capital. From covering the 2012 presidential race of then-Gov. Rick Perry to covering massive wildfires in the hill country, I got my first taste of big market news reporting.

From Austin, I accepted a job at WFAA-TV in Dallas. Much like KING 5, the legacy station was a great opportunity for me to truly develop both as a journalist and as a photographer.

In 2019, I jumped at the opportunity to transfer within TEGNA to KING 5 in Seattle. It's been great to be back in the Pacific Northwest!

Throughout my career my work has been recognized with an Emmy, and with awards from the National Press Photographers Association and the Associated Press.

I am always looking for story ideas. Please feel free to reach out anytime via email at srobertson@king5.com, on Twitter and Facebook.
